Foreign visitors to Japan reached a record 13,414,000 in 2014, up 29.4% on 2013 (10,364,000), according to the Japan National Tourism Organization (JNTO). Taiwan, South Korea and China were the largest source markets. Officials attributed the rise to the weaker yen, more international flights to Haneda and eased visa rules for Southeast Asian countries. Source: Travel Voice, citing JNTO.
