All Calbee Products Are Considered Haram

A Muslim brother recently asked us to verify the permissibility of Potato Farm, a product made by Calbee, a famous food manufacturer in Japan. This morning, we talked to the company in Japan. They said that none of their products should be considered OK for Muslims to eat as they were using either animal or pork-related ingredients or they were using the same production line for all their product manufacturing regardless.  Please stay away from their products and inform other Muslim brothers and sisters as well about the manufacturer.

We would like to mention one thing important about this issue. In fact, we talked to Calbee Japan ONLY. We do not know anything about their products made in other countries such as Malaysia.  A lot of visitors from Malaysia and other countries are accessing our site to get to know the details about the non-permissibility of the Calbee products. However, we advise confirming the halal ness of the Calbee products in their own respective countries.  The info we provided in the above lines is relevant to the Calbee products made in Japan only. We do not know the situation in other countries.

We sincerely believe that we have provided this piece of information for the sake of the Muslims who are living in Japan. We do have not grudge against Calbee or any other maker. We tried to be as accurate as possible while giving the opinion in this article.

But, gain, last but not least, we could be wrong in our opinion.  The reason I am saying this is that, maybe, we need to dig a little deeper about the real definition of what halal should be. The problem is that, many different scholars may have their own definition of what constitutes halal.

We would like to invite our learned reader to give their opinion as to what is the correct definition of halal or permissible.
