In the past few weeks, social media has been flooded with fake cures, virus misinformation. People have been dying by taking poisonous “cures” in the US, Iran and many other places in the world. The usage of fake cures, virus misinformation, has been devastating to many communities as the COVID-19 virus is spreading like a wildfire all over the world.
Some of these remedial measures advised on social media may not be as harmful to a human body as others. However, they could damage you if you do not take “proper” quantities of the “medicines”. For example, Kalonji or black seeds are prescribed by our beloved Prophet Muhammad (May peace be upon him) for curing all types of diseases except death. Being Muslims, we can never doubt the authenticity of this hadith. However, please be aware that you should take the black seeds only in small quantities. Otherwise, it may harm your body severely
We urge our readers to follow authentic information only to cure the COVID-19 disease. Fake cures, virus misinformation on social media can only harm you and /or your loved ones. We have to become fact-minded individuals.
It is also strictly forbidden in Islam to foward a message without actually authenticating it.
