The Japanese Government Started Giving ¥100,000 In Tokyo, Surrounding Prefectures starting from May the 7th. However, the pace at which they have started distributing money to households varies from ward to ward. For example, in the Nerima area of Tokyo where we live, the ward office has started receiving applications via the post office since yesterday.
We discussed this issue with the local ward office and they told us that they planned to send application forms to residents from May 15th. Once they receive your application, they will deposit the money into your account within 15 days. However, if you want to get money earlier than the said date, just go to your local ward office website and download the application form now.
Shinjuku Ward Office recently announced that they could not give the money to its residents as they were busy taking preventive measures to contain the COVID-19 virus from spreading.
If you send the application form now, you could get the money within 15 days into your account. To discuss further details, you may want to contact your local ward office.
